Oh Snappy Day!

When Nick + Victoria contacted me about shooting their engagement, they originally wanted a nature backdrop for the shoot. I love a nature shoot, but boy am I glad they changed their minds a week later, because I loved what we were able to capture downtown. It definitely suited them more.

After getting engaged in the Bahamas, they will be returning there next year for their wedding as well. I can only imagine what a beautiful bride Victoria will be. Um guys, you know I travel, right? I’m just sayin’…

It was really hard to choose which pics to blog, there were so many I loved.

Life has come between me and blogging again, but I had to hop back on the wagon to post this particular session. The Astons are a beautiful family, inside and out, and I enjoyed spending an hour with them, their gorgeous baby and their intrepid pirate hunter…










Lisa, you are one hot mama!

Michael Gibb found my website last Fall and asked me to shoot his engagement to Megan. I met him at the Botanical Gardens where he surprised Megan with not only a ring, but an impromptu engagement photo shoot. While we waited for Megan to arrive with her boss (who was in on the surprise), I asked Michael what Megan was like. He said Megan was “the coolest girl I’ve ever met”. It wasn’t so much what he said but how he said it, that told me Megan was someone special.
2009 has been a big year for them. In March I shot their beautiful, sweet wedding, and got to meet their loving families and friends. And a few months later they announced they are expecting a baby boy! And this week they moved to Washington D.C. after Michael’s Air Force Officer commissioning, which I was honored to shoot. I had never attended one so I didn’t know what to expect, but found it to be a small, intimate ceremony that honored their achievements and the people involved in getting them there. It was really touching.
Michael & Megan, it was great working with you all three times, and I wish you all the best in DC with the new Pentagon job and (more importantly) the soon-to-arrive Baby Gibb.

I love my job. I get to meet people like the Ramirez family, with their handsome sweet boys, and enjoy exploring the park with them while capturing their fun personalities in portraits. On a sunny day in December, I can’t think of a better job to have. Thanks to Kelly & her boys for an enjoyable session (and our mutual friend Jennifer for the referral!).

Judging by their boys, Abby & Richard should just quit their jobs and make babies. If that sort of thing were legal.

Little Miss Annabelle kept us on our toes on this shoot (a preview of what is in my future, no doubt!), but with eyes like that she’s a great model even at top toddler speed.

I took the month of October completely off (more on that in a later post), so this past week was my first photo shoot since getting the kids. It felt soooo good to be back with a camera in my hand and no kids of my own around! I had the pleasure of shooting Jennifer & Jim and their adorable kids M & H. My sister introduced me to Jennifer online last year when M & I were at the beginning of the waiting adoption process because they had already been through the process twice and had a lot of knowledge to share. So by the time they booked this photoshoot, I felt like I already knew all four of them through pictures & stories. Jennifer is a total sweetheart who was very giving with her story and encouragement, and after meeting Jim I can see that she has a great partner in raising their ridiculously cute kids. I had a lot of fun on this shoot & was glad they were up for anything!

On Saturday we took off into the Hill Country, enjoying the back roads, views, and some lunch in Marble Falls.

Marble Falls had a lot of sculptures and artwork along Main Street, including this statue of a dog resembling Lucy, if Lucy were to wear a skirt & balance on one leg on a ball. We’ll have to work on that one, right after we teach her to fetch coffee in the mornings. In the meantime here’s a picture of Miss Lucy (right), taken with my camera phone (before it fell in the pool).

On Labor Day we had a little BBQ & Wii RockBand get-together, and Isabella took her first turn on the swings in the backyard.

She warmed to it pretty quickly, and we got a rare glimpse of her two bottom teeth as our reward…

Still catching up on the backlog of photos in my queue; this one was from a couple months ago but the freshness seal has kept the cute in.

Four outfit changes in 1 hour… oh the possibilities…
